Typeform Integration Guide
Automatically import customer reviews from Typeform surveys using Personal Access Tokens with daily sync
Prerequisites
- A ReviewSlider account with an active collection
- A Typeform account (Personal Access Token requires Pro plan or higher)
- A review collection form in Typeform with proper field mapping
Step 1: Set Up Your Typeform
Create a Typeform with the following required fields:
Required Questions:
- • Name (Short text) - Customer's name
- • Rating (Opinion Scale 1-5) - Star rating
- • Review (Long text) - Review content
Optional Questions:
- • Email (Email) - For follow-up
- • Company (Short text) - Customer's company
- • Title (Short text) - Review headline
Step 2: Generate Typeform Personal Access Token
- 1. Log into your Typeform account
- 2. Go to your profile settings
- 3. Navigate to "Personal tokens" in the left sidebar
- 4. Click "Generate a new token"
- 5. Give it a name (e.g., "ReviewSlider Integration")
- 6. Select the required scopes:
Required Scopes:
- • forms:read - To access form structure
- • responses:read - To fetch form responses
Important: Copy and save your token immediately - you won't be able to see it again!
Step 3: Configure ReviewSlider Integration
- 1. Log into your ReviewSlider dashboard
- 2. Navigate to "Integrations" in the main menu
- 3. Click "Add Typeform Integration"
- 4. Fill in the required information:
- • Integration Name: A name for your integration
- • Personal Access Token: The token you generated
- • Typeform ID: Select your form from the dropdown
- • Collection: Choose which collection to import reviews to
- 5. Test the connection to ensure it works
- 6. Save the integration
Step 4: Field Mapping
ReviewSlider automatically detects and maps your Typeform fields during setup:
Automatic Field Detection:
- • Name fields: Short text fields containing "name", "nimi"
- • Rating fields: Number or rating fields (1-5 scale)
- • Review fields: Long text fields for review content
- • Title fields: Short text for review headlines (optional)
Note: You can manually adjust field mappings during the integration setup if the automatic detection doesn't match your form structure.
Step 5: Test and Sync
- 1. Submit a test response to your Typeform
- 2. In ReviewSlider, click "Sync Now" to manually import responses
- 3. Check your Reviews dashboard - new reviews appear as "pending"
- 4. Approve reviews to display them in your carousel
Automatic Daily Sync
ReviewSlider automatically syncs new Typeform responses daily at 3:00 PM (Finland time). You can also use the "Sync Now" button for immediate updates.
Advanced Features
Missing Rating Handling
Reviews without ratings are automatically assigned 5 stars. Only name and review content are required fields.
Duplicate Prevention
ReviewSlider prevents duplicate imports by tracking unique response IDs from Typeform
Manual Sync Control
Use the "Sync Now" button anytime to immediately fetch new responses, in addition to the daily automatic sync
Troubleshooting
Reviews not appearing after sync?
- • Verify Personal Access Token has correct scopes
- • Check that your Typeform has new responses since last sync
- • Ensure required fields (name, review text) are filled in responses
- • Check ReviewSlider Reviews dashboard for pending items
Connection test failing?
- • Verify your Personal Access Token is valid and not expired
- • Check that your Typeform account has Pro plan or higher
- • Ensure the selected form exists and is accessible
- • Try generating a new Personal Access Token
Field mapping issues?
- • Review field names should contain keywords like "review", "comment", "feedback"
- • Rating fields should be number type with 1-5 scale
- • Name fields should be short text containing "name" or "nimi"
- • Manually adjust mappings if automatic detection is incorrect
